Continuing shipping disruptions

After 2 years of #exporters struggling through the pandemic and cargo insurance premiums rising, 2022 sees no end to exporting difficulties as the Black Sea Crisis deteriorates and #global #shipping disruptions continue.

Major shipping lines ceased calling Russian and Ukrainian seaports and international #airfreight is also suffering as freight is being diverted around Russian airspace.

All of this increases shipping costs because of fuel expense and man-hours, increased number of cargo damages in transit  overall and exporters are becoming more likely to make #cargoclaims as disruption continues and goods are unable to reach their destinations in sound condition and  on time.

As food prices skyrocket, the impact this could have on the worlds poorer countries could be catastrophic. Supply chains are still recovering from the effect of the global pandemic, so can it get worse?

Yes it can and it is expected to, and all of this has a direct effect on #exporting and

#freightforwarding including rising costs in shipping and insurance premiums.
