It was said from the beginning that should the war between Russia and Ukraine continue then the effects could be catastrophic to some countries when it comes to food supply.
With 1 in 10 containers and their cargo getting damaged in transit, it isn’t always possible to rely on all food sources arriving in perfect condition to their port of delivery, so although cargo claims help the exporter recoup the losses, the food crisis will still continue.
The United Nations wants desperately for both countries to re-start the export of grain to regions such as Africa and the Middle East because long-term famine looms across the poorer nations.
